Power of Prayer

At this time of the year it is stake conference the sessions are held over 2 days saturday and Sunday.(sadly I missed saturday night session) I used to think yay! its conference a break from our weekly church duties that feeling has changed. I now look forward to it and can't wait to hear messages and council from our speakers. These speakers vary from leaders of our church presidency to members in our congregation.

There was one talk in particular that inspired me or shall I say I felt It was meant for me. He is a father who spoke of his own personal experience in prayer. How powerful his simple experience had left such an impression on me. It prompted me to remember and realise our heavenly father knows each and every one of us, our trials, our challenges. He is happy to hear from us, to listen, to help lift the burden, although it may not be answered in an instant or not what we were expecting, its part of our journey Im not entirely sure, I don't always understand and question everything! I feel it is to make us stronger… I then took a step back and remember why we are all here, he gave up his son Jesus Christ  to atone for our sins. Jesus suffered persecution torture, pain, suffering, sorrow for every single one of us, he loves us this much! So to hear from us no matter how long it has been, or not at all it doesn't matter, he loves us all. Soften your hearts you will be uplifted.

It really made me reflect on my own life and efforts as a mum with a young child how busy we all are kinder drop off, grocery shopping, washing, dinners, extra curricular activities the list goes on! I remember to bless our meals, bedtime prayers with Arabella. Then it suddenly struck me… I was so used to doing it all of the time with Arabella I was forgetting my own spiritual nourishment and personal prayer!

That night I was struggling with this particular challenge I poured my heart in prayer and asked for help and I woke the next day and my prayer was answered. I am so grateful for the gospel in my life, for the teachings and guidance, especially to know my heavenly father loves me and hears all our prayers no matter what faith you are.
