How to stress a frame & recycle your old jars...

These days I just cant get enough of opp shopping, especially when you find a bargain and you have a light bulb moment; "I can paint these and return them to their original glory" and doesn't break the budget!

I had some hand me down frames. They were gold...not a fan! The frames were ornate, I knew with a coat of paint they would have the 'wow' factor!

Materials needed:
Damp sponge
Drop sheet
Paint brush
Paint
Sandpaper

1. Clean your frames with your damp cloth, start painting the first coat.

2. I didn't use an undercoat, since I was painting my frames antique white. If you are painting other colours than white make sure you use an undercoat, you will have better results.

3. Wait the recommended time for the first coat to dry then apply your second coat.

4. Once its dry, use your sandpaper rub gently on corners and you  can determine how much sanding you need.

5. As you paint over the patterned part of your frame you will see the new paint and the original colour thru the pattern. It's that simple! Once it's on the wall, you will feel proud of your work :)

I hope I have inspired some DIY'ers out there!

My DIY frames...

I love meaningful quotes so when I find one I like, I pin it, or  just take a photo of it.
Then I can design on my computer, choose the colours I prefer, and take to office works
To print for $2-3 and use my pretty frames I painted.
Voila! Homemade art that cost next to nothing!

DIY Jars... Recycle Your Old Jars!

Mason jar filled with oil was a Pinterest idea I stole. I thought it was clever
It preserves the photo and gives it a sepia tone.

I love my tea light jars, another pinspiration
Tear pages out of an old book trace your heart shape
Add whatever colour ribbon you like.

I started to use my jars for simple things like Arabella stationery it
helps choosing colours  easier and pack up time
Is an absolute breeze — it happens!

I  loving my pen jar. Pens were constantly lost in
our house so then came the pen jar, add  a cute vintage label to make it
look pretty or plain it's entirely up to you and your style

I also made a mini bathroom vignette with a silver tray purchased from opp
shop for a $1 then added my pretty jar with lavender
